The lifespan of your bow, your equipment in general and the possible application of the guarantee depend on compliance with these basic rules: These recommendations are not to be taken lightly and must be strictly respected, do not try them. bad methods, don't break the rules, not even "once to try"....


Preamble :

Any order for a product on Lx Archerie requires consultation and prior acceptance of these general conditions of sale. Consequently, the consumer acknowledges being fully informed of the fact that his agreement concerning the content of these general conditions does not require the handwritten signature of this document, to the extent that the customer wishes to order online the products presented in the store. . The consumer has the option of saving or editing these general conditions, it being specified that both the saving and the editing of this document are his sole responsibility.


Manufactured or industrial products sold by Lx Archerie are guaranteed by the manufacturers and only the manufacturer's warranty is applicable. As a reseller, Lx Archerie is responsible for acting as an intermediary and opening after-sales service files with the various suppliers, wholesalers, importers, manufacturers and manufacturers... Assuming any repair or exchange being in fact their exclusive responsibility, as well as the possible deadlines and costs that they may apply.


Due to specific constraints, additional or special conditions apply to products manufactured in the Lx Archerie workshop (Bow, string and arrow manufacturer: Daniel Lacroix), such as bows, arrows and strings. of arc, particularly in terms of delivery time and after-sales service of up to 12 months. The warranty, exchange and repair conditions are also specific to these products, the customer accepts these conditions, as well as those below and those specified in the general conditions of sale present on this site.


Reminder: bows, arrows and their components, as well as knives, are category D2 weapons whose sale is prohibited to minors and must only be used by a minor under the supervision and responsibility of an adult.


Remember: No bow is indestructible or unbreakable whatever the brand or the Craftsman... A bow can be damaged in a few moments, while its repair will take several weeks, its replacement several months...


    By high temperature (i.e. from 25°): Reminder: at only 40° epoxy glues become unstable, exposed to the sun, the glass fibers rise to 60° in a few minutes!!!... Do not rope your arc if it is hot, for example if it was in a vehicle, with only 25°, the temperature rises between 40 and 50° inside, be careful, do not let it heat up, it can take several hours to return to its normal state. Do not leave it in the sun... Be careful of thermal shock!!! On a hot summer day, if you were in the woods with a temperature between 20 and 25°, do not place your bow on the hood of a vehicle (temperature above 60°), nor on anything hot, such as the top of a mulch exposed to the sun, the ground of a thatch, or any other support which could be hot. Leave your bow in the shade as much as possible, if you have to wait on open ground, turn your back to the sun and shade your bow... If it's really too hot, but you have still decided to take out your bow, do so with these few precautions, an abnormal situation requires additional attention.​


​* Over several seasons and in several geographical locations in mainland France, the temperatures mentioned were recorded inside vehicles, on supports such as: vehicle hood, top of target exposed to the sun (foam or stramit straw). , covered or not with plastic film, target cap made of sheet metal or plastic), as well as on the arcs themselves... Temperature recorded exceeding 60° on vehicle hoods and the fiberglass of the arcs left in the sun .


* On several dozen tests of bamboo / carbon / fiberglass samples and on several arcs in real use situations, the tolerance temperatures of epoxy glues used in arc making (industrial or artisanal), and this, on several brands of epoxy often used for the manufacture of arches (Smooth-On, Sicomin, Araldite, UHU...), generally conform to those announced by the manufacturers who manufacture these glues. All the tests carried out showed delaminations with little tearing of material from 40° (i.e. insufficient strength for a shooting bow, and little variation, depending on the other constraints of the bow such as the size / power / draw ratio) and without any tearing of material from a temperature of 60° (i.e. a few minutes for fiberglass in the sun)


    Storage: It is important to store your bow flat on a rack away from any stress, heat, sun, moon (even through a window), humidity, dust, to systematically inspect it before stringing it or following a shock, an abnormal noise when releasing, etc.


    Stringing and unstringing: Use a controlled method to string or unstring a bow... The more pronounced the shape of the bow, the more vigilant you must be during this operation. The use of a false rope does not protect everything and does not exempt you from this vigilance. Do it calmly and not in the middle of a discussion, devoting all your attention to this operation. The bow should only be strung just before use and unstrung as soon as the shooting session is over. If a long enough break allows it during the day, the bow must be unstrung, especially if it is hot. Never leave a bow strung for a long period of non-use and even less so in a car in high temperatures. When it's 25°; the temperature rises by 40 to 50° in a vehicle. When your bow is exposed to the sun, even through glass, in a few minutes, the temperature of the glass fibers covering the limbs of the bow can exceed 60°; i.e. the instability temperature of the best existing epoxy glues. Do not use a false "longbow" string on the bows in my workshop, the headstock tips are not intended for this purpose, if you use a false string, only use "universal" type false strings which take the entire headstock on one side and the top of the branch on the other (under no circumstances should any stress be exerted on the tips of the headstocks).


    Monitor your rope and its notches: Using a worn rope, not waxed or too few in number of strands, can cause it to break, do not hesitate to change rope if you have the slightest doubt. A string only costs a few euros, the bow costs much more. Broken string = very often broken bow! The same goes for nocks, broken nock = empty release, detrimental to the life of your bow. Strings can be equipped with 1 or 2 pairs of string silencers intended to dampen string vibrations. These silencers must be placed correctly, on an equal part of the rope and symmetrically, the same if bush buttons are used. Be careful not to overload the rope with accessories that could cause branch vibrations. Pay attention to the condition of your rope in the dolls, inspect the loops and the condition of the dolls' notches before each shooting session, a worn rope or one with fewer strands in the loop can become sharp and damage the dolls.


    In the event of an empty release, string breakage, shooting incident or abnormal release: Before using your bow again, check if it still has the same general shape as originally, unstring it on it, check the condition of the headstock and overlay ticks, check for the slightest sign of delamination, in case of damage or in case of doubt, do not shoot with it anymore and send it back to the workshop for inspection.


    Band: A bow is designed to be used with a certain band, it is the manufacturer who determines the band of use, it is important to respect this precisely in order to use the bow within the constraint range which it requires. was planned. A band that is too strong or too weak causes premature wear of your bow and can insidiously lead to breakage.


    Spine: Using the correct arrow spine, an incorrect spine, particularly in the event of intensive use, can cause asymmetrical limb work and abnormal wear of the bow. Observing the wear of the bow mat can tell you about the effectiveness of the arrow spine you are using.


    Arrow weight: A bow is asked to go from zero to 200 km/h on average over a distance of a few tens of cm, it is exposed to enormous constraints. Much of this energy is absorbed by the arrow. If it is too light, it is the arc which must absorb this energy. Suffering more vibrations than expected, the arc ends up detaching or breaking. Generally speaking, unless otherwise specified by the manufacturer, it is important to stick to a weight of 10 to 11 grains of arrow weight per pound of bow power. A 50 pound bow = a 500 to 550 grain arrow. (Knowing that a weight of 10 to 11 gpp corresponds to the energy efficiency of your bow, no significant gain is obtained with an arrow that is too light).


    Draw: As a standard, a bow is designed for a draw of 28", if you have a draw greater than this, check carefully that the bow you are using is capable of accepting this constraint. Take this into account in the spine of your arrows, the more the arrow exceeds the standard 28", the higher the spine must be, the same if you use heavy points, generally above 125 grains, the heavier the point, the higher the spine must be . Your bow must have been adjusted for this extension, if it has evolved, make sure that the constraints that the bow can accept are compatible.


    String grip: My bows are designed to be used with a so-called "Mediterranean" release, i.e. 2 fingers under the arrow and 1 finger above, to the exclusion of any other type of release such as thumb shooting, barebow, etc. ... As well as shots made using a shooting machine, whether industrial or artisanal.


    Decalibration: The position of the nockset varies depending on the diameter of your arrows and it is important to correctly position the nocking marks according to each diameter (which excludes having suitable efficiency with the same decalibration and arrows of different diameters). If the arrow exits are not correct and you are sure you are using the correct spine, check the position of the nockset.


    Rope Materials: There are many rope materials on the market, the best known of which are the soft, standard-performance Dacron and the stiffer, high-performance HMPE (commonly known as Fast Flight) materials. There are many variations of these materials. Rigid materials like Fast Flight or similar, are often more durable than Dacron, also more expensive, their rigidity ensures a performance gain which can go up to 10 to 15% more exit speed. It's interesting, but it's the bow that must accept more stress and absorb part of the energy of the release, much more than with a standard material like Dacron. Never use a Fast Flight string or similar, without being sure that the bow has not been designed to accept such stress. No need to risk your bow to get a few more meters.


    Rate of use: If the bow must be used intensively (competition practice), this statement must be included at the time of ordering. A bow in average regular use is considered between 50 and 100 arrows per week.


    Technical intervention: Do not intervene on your arch yourself, even if the intervention seems superficial and inconsequential, ask for advice.


    Loan of the bow: Do not lend your bow, not even when you are asked “just to see and shoot it”, its settings and equipment are personal to you…

Application of the warranty on bows and products manufactured in the Lx Archerie workshop:


In the event of damage, Lx Archerie is the only one capable of deciding whether the bow can be repaired or whether it must be exchanged. The delays necessary for the repair, or the manufacture of another bow cannot give right to compensation or additional discount. The customer will therefore be returned their repaired and possibly modified bow, or a new bow, either new or another bow of equivalent value. The damaged bow can also be exchanged for an industrial bow depending on the circumstances. In the event of damage following mistreatment or use outside the normal scope of the bow, Lx Archerie reserves the right to end the warranty before its end. The customer will then be notified at the same time as the return or exchange of their bow. In the event of non-compliance with the rules of use, repairs may be invoiced in whole or in part to the customer.


If returning to the workshop:

To apply the warranty, the bow must be returned with all of its equipment (string, grip, mat, scabbard), including those that have been replaced due to wear such as bow strings and mats ( which involves keeping old strings and worn bow mats for the duration of the bow's warranty).


Exclusion of warranty for damage resulting from the following elements and acts:
